WHAT NEXT? HOW ELSE CAN WE HELP?

While the imminent danger has subsided in some regions of Australia the battle against these horrific fires continues in many parts of the country. Please be water wise. We are still in the middle of the worst drought that this country has ever experienced and water has become even more important, both to our fragile ecosystem and to the fight against these fires.
Make a conscious effort to tread more lightly on this earth. Consume less.

Support fire effected regions. Many of the communities most horrifically effected by the fires rely on the business generated through tourists visiting their region during the summer season. With this in mind please know that the South Coast is open for business… and she is just as pretty as ever.

@emptyesky is a movement of foodies + adventurers supporting local businesses affected by the #australianfires. This initiative encourages you to visit fire effected communities and fill up your #emptyesky at their local stores. Whether it be doing your weekly grocery shop in their markets/super markets, filling up your fuel tank from their local petrol stations (often much a much more cost effective option then their city based counterparts), eating at their local cafes and restaurants or buying their local produce it all help to rebuild their local economy which in turn helps to rebuild their livelihoods.

@Spendwiththem is helping to rebuild towns and businesses affected by fire by showcasing local shops and products made by local artisans and producers in fire effected regions.
